The Ilfman + Sonitus Mortis project fuses composer Frank Ilfman’s synth background with German expressionist Sonitus Mortis’ dark, experimental soundscapes. Utilizing AI tools to convert digital sound into old analog gear, creating immersive, atmospheric compositions that blend film music with haunting, avant-garde textures.

“Surgimus,” the debut single unfolds slowly, layering eerie sounds to capture the stillness of nightly forest. Industrial elements mimic the rustling of trees, creating a haunting, tangible soundscape. Influenced by the new wave movement, and dark ambient electronica, SURGIMUS is a sonic meditation on isolation and ascent.
